Walker’s Bluff in Carterville recently began hosting their Wine and Wings Wednesday in order to offer the community some tasty options.

On these nights, guests are offered $3 glasses of wine and $5 chicken wings, with a variety of flavors.

Executive Chef Leonard “Chef Leo” Smith said they also host their Pasta night on the first Wednesday of the month. So, on Jan. 2, the Tasting Room at Walker’s Bluff had a variety of deals for customers.

Smith said they are trying to draw a crowd and offer a variety to the community with the addition of Wednesday nights. The restaurant was previously only open Thursday-Sunday.

Assistant Manager Mary Jane Newby said the venue’s story began with a gazebo, which owner Cynde Bunch would visit and pray. Newby said that Bunch felt she was being instructed by God to open the business, with inspiration from Napa Valley, California.

Cynde and her husband, Dave, now both own the business, and they are constantly involved in organizations, charities and many other services.

“She believes very much in giving back to the community, ” Newby said.

Walker’s Bluff features many different events at different times, including music performances, movie nights and many other events.
